I have this memory of a Keep on Truckin' poster or license plate
with Mr. Natural as the Keep on Truckin' guy on the road. Is
this accurate, do you know? My daughter is a long-time Grateful
Dead fan and drives a small truck. I wanted to make her a

associated with the Grateful Dead song Truckin'. Can you help?

Yesterday Land: Saturday Morning
What was your favorite Saturday morning cartoon show when you
were a kid? Did you watch Supercar with Mike Mercury, the first
of the "Supermarionation" kids' shows? How about its successor
Fireball XL-5? Maybe you were more into Diver Dan? Oops, maybe we
need to fast forward to the 60s or 70s. When was the last time
you hummed the Banana Splits theme song? Did you get up early to
follow the antics of H.R. Pufnstuf and the annoying Jimmy and his
flute Freddie? The Bugaloos? Check out all your favorite Saturday
morning memories from Commando Cody in the 50s, Lancelot Link,
Secret Chimp, in the 70s, to Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars in
the 90s and everything in between. This is a great site and you'd
best budget an hour or more of delicious time wasting for your
nostalgia trip. You can post your remembrances about your
favorite shows and read those of others.

Rather frightening!!!
Forgotten Facts ?? (Conveniently)
Back in 1969 a group of Black Panthers decided that a fellow
black panther named Alex Rackley needed to die.
Rackley was suspected of disloyalty. Rackley was first tied to
a chair. Once safely immobilized his 'friends' tortured him for
hours by, among other things, pouring boiling water on him. When
they got tired of torturing Rackley, Black Panther member Warren
Kimbo took Rackley outside and put a bullet in his head.
Rackley's body was later found floating in a river about 25
miles north of New Haven, Conn. Perhaps at this point you're
curious as to what happened to these Black Panthers.
In 1977, that's only eight years later, only one of the killers
was still in jail. The shooter, Warren Kimbro, managed to get a
scholarship to Harvard. He later became an assistant dean at
Eastern Connecticut State College. Isn't that something? As a
'60s radical you can pump a bullet into someone's head, and a
few years later, in the same state, you can become an assistant
college dean! Only in America!
Erica Huggins was the lady who served the Panthers by boiling
the water for Mr. Rackley's torture. Some years later Ms.
Huggins was elected to a California School Board. How in the
world do you think these killers got off so easy?
Maybe it was in some part due to the efforts of two people who
came to the defense of the Panthers. These two people actually
went so far as to shut down Yale University with demonstrations
in defense of the accused Black Panthers during their trial.
One of these people was none other than Bill Lan Lee. Mr. Lee,
or Mr. Lan Lee, as the case may be, isn't a college dean. He
isn't a member of a California School Board. He is now head of
the US Justice Department's Civil Rights Division.
O.K., so who was the other Panther defender? Is this other
notable Panther defender now a school board member? Is this
other Panther apologist now an assistant college dean? No,
Neither! The other Panther defender was, like Lee, a radical
law student at Yale University at the time. She is now known as
The "smartest woman in the world." She is none other than the
Democratic candidate for the US Senate from the state of New York
--our lovely First Lady, the incredible Hillary Rodham Clinton.
And now; as Paul Harvey says; you know (the rest of the story.
Pass this on! She deserves the press................

Subject: Intro
I've been on the list now for 2 months but haven't introduced
myself. Oh well.
I'm 50 years old and lived in Ohio during the 60s. Had several
friends who attended Kent State during the riots and I was
attending Ohio State when the riots broke out there.
The 60s were a period though of peace, love, and freedom if
you were among the "right" brothers and sisters.
I've directed HAIR: An American Tribal Love/Rock Musical twice
(97 & 99). It helps me to keep in touch with those extremely
colorful days. I still wear my hair long and try to keep the
spirit of the 60s alive.
PEACE,

Im not putting you on when I tell you that I opened it for a dip
and kept on for the full swim. I think what youve got here is
not only fascinating in its own right, but severs as well as an
accurate history of the time and the phenom ... Not that only
veterans of bonfires and big naked piles will be the only people
likely to love your book ... Id say it has cross-over appeal ...
I like your book very, very much and will roll out in the mighty

The Band
Audio CD (September 26, 2000)

It seems odd that the Band emerged in 1968, defying the
counterculture's extravagant rejections of U.S. culture with
literary, often Southern-tinged musical and lyrical vehicles.
Hearing this 18-song anthology, with its heavy weighting toward
the quintet's first three albums--Music from Big Pink (four
tunes), The Band (five tunes), and Stage Fright (three tunes)
--what still stands out is the Band's command of yearning vocal
harmonies, their sense of plainly laid melodies that reveal
acoustic depth, and a nostalgia for an imagined American culture.
With all their quirkiness and the advance of Robbie Robertson as
their centerpiece, the Band lost their celebrated place in the
rock pantheon within a decade. This set, which opens so
magnificently with "The Weight," "Tears of Rage" (cowritten with
Dylan), and the big organ-vamping "Chest Fever," declines rather
steeply on the final tracks, "Acadian Driftwood" and "The Saga
of Pepote Rouge." Up till then, however, this set is fantastic.

Infinity's Child
If you like computer animation and music working together, you
will love this DVD.
Amazon.com
The makers of Planetary Traveler return with another wordless
voyage through computer-generated worlds. Infinity's Child,
however, leaves behind the recognizable if digitally realized
landscapes from that first effort; this time, the images border
upon the abstract. A brief voice-over at the opening informs us
that the Phleig explorers from Planetary Traveler have tracked
down one of their spacecraft circling abandoned above a
mysterious planet. For the next 40 minutes we hear nothing but
an electronic score alternatively droning and bouncing along as
images drift by, undergo some transformation, then fade away
again. Translucent rocks lazily roll upon a crimson sea; a
watery substance ripples with golden light; crystal spires rise
up from oceans.
