Keep On Truckin' Re-Visited is a moderated newsletter/list about the time between the mid 60s and mid 70s. It was designed to examine and present a positive nostalgia of a time since past. It is also designed to provide a forum for you to share your feelings, thoughts and experiences from that time frame. Please participate and help this community grow. ---------------- To SUBSCRIBE, e-mail To UNSUBSCRIBE, e-mail (Drop me a note and let me know why, if you would.) I am open to suggestions and look forward to your guidance. Your help will be appreciated. It can be something as heavy as a book ("The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test") or as simple as the lyrics to a song ("Name" by the Goo Goo Dolls [I know, not 60's or 70's but I find it profound all the same]). Every living thing needs food to grow, and I feel that anything that expands your mind must be food! (could a good belly laugh be classified as a snack?) As Devadatta Shastri says in his commentary: "At the moment when the peak of bliss is attained, the internal and external world vanish. The man and woman cease to be separate entities and lose themselves in the beatitudes of being." Daniélou's elegant rendering includes not only the entire sutra, much of which is excluded in other versions, but two essential commentaries as well. More than just a pillow book, the Kama Sutra is a guide to the labyrinth of sexual etiquette, from how to bathe before meeting a lover to how lovers should entertain each other after making love. Admittedly, the text is dated and culture bound in places; it can be chauvinistic, bizarre, and even violent. The commentators are careful to point out, however, that the work is an overview of all sexual practices, some of which are not recommended. Take from this encyclopedia of amour what you will and let it keep you moving down the path of spiritual practice. --Brian Bruya http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0892815256/vipgraphivideo (you may need to cut and paste the url if it's on two lines) FEATURED ALBUM It's A Beautiful Day (1st LP) It's A Beautiful Day Audio CD (May 30, 1994) Original Release Date: 1969 San Francisco Sound; ASIN: B000000DPF No 60s - 70s music collection would be complete without the addition of this groups self titled album. 1.
