More fluff... less stuff...
So, warm up the lava lamp, flip on the black light, drive old Dixie down with Joan, put on your love beads, your headband, bell bottomed pants, put a flower in your hair, get yourself in the proper state of mind, kick back, and experience the rest of the newsletter.

Hello!
This is my first post. I've enjoyed receiving all issues of KOTRV--thank you!
Now it's time to give a "gift" back to all of you fine folk!
There is an exciting movement occurring here on Whidbey Island, Washington. Every Monday night, there is a broadcast of improvised music, jamming, joy, laughter with fine music and finer friends. It's a "virtual" concert using RealAudio's streaming audio.
This is my 4th concert coming up, and TestingTesting's 21st! This really feels like "home" <g>. All their shows are archived as well. I am forwarding y'all their latest announcement. After this, you're on your own <wink> and can sign up to receive schedules directly.
Enjoy--'tis the season!
I hope to see you there...use the BBS to say hi!
Pax, ..Zoe
---------announcement follows:
The 21st TestingTesting is Monday night, December 21st:
5 (hawaii-aleutian)
6 (alaska)
7 (pacific)
8 (mountain)
9 (central)
10 (eastern)
11 (atlantic)
Do you know when you are?
Monday night we will feature Laurie Riley on celtic harp. Check out her web site at http://www.laurieriley.com.
Regulars Derek Parrott and Steve Showell, and maybe Joanne Rouse will also be here for another evening of improvisational music.
The snow is still on the ground and it is cold out but the music should warm everyone up!
We will give away another pound of Whidbey's Coffee.
If you haven't checked out the last show it is archived on the TestingTesting web site:
http://www.electricedge.com/testingtesting. Tom Hoeflich played the blues.

This one just missed the last issue by a few hours, but they archive all the shows and I think you will find the
testingtesting site enjoyable - I know I did.

I got the intro letter today and it asked me why I decided to join this list. There are a couple of reasons why I joined this list. I like reading particularly about that era, and even more I like hearing other peoples personal thoughts about that era. Also I just got a new mailbox and wanted to get some cool words in it. You'll be hearing from me later,

Hello all,
The 60's and 70's were a time where everything was pushed to the extreme. Free love, fashion, drugs, family life, and morals all changed. I have been lectured by older people on how so many people died during those times, but like my mother told me (She is a hippy at heart) without the hippies and the fact that they pushed everything they could views would never have changed. They changed society. Some of things like the pill were not invented until the 60's early 70's. Be it Rap, folk, alternative, or dance music that you like, it was the 70's that made such diversities available to us. Teenagers were given more respect, and parents learned to trust our judgement. I love the 70's and respect everything they gave us, those hippies fought more than the draft, they fought society, and when I look around my high school today I know they won. Thank you Janis Joplin, Bob Dilan, Kris Kristopherson, Mick Jagger, Jimi Hendrex and everyone else who fought for our freedom!

"In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move."
Douglas Adams
"Always observe how ephemeral and worthless human things are. Pass then through this little space of time conformably to nature, and end thy journey in content, just as an olive falls off when it is ripe, blessing nature who produced it, and thanking the tree on which it grew."

R. M. Baumgardy
"Man is born passionate of body, but with an innate though secret tendency to the love of Good in his main-spring of Mind. But God help us all! It is at present a sad jar of atoms."
Lord Byron
"It's funny. All you have to do is say something nobody understands and they'll do practically anything you want them to."
