Mad, Random Thoughts
(Are there any other kind?)
Here are a few random thoughts just to get you started.
- I've already had it up to here ... with this election b.s..
- Don't you just want to reach up and turn down the thermostat on
the sun once in a while?
- The polar ice caps are melting faster than once thought, there
are to many fires to count raging across the the west, (of the
US) and a few other nice little deals goin' on and I am sitting
here try to figure out what to have for dinner.. hummm.. ? ?
- I water the grass, it grows, I mow the grass, I water the
grass, it grows, I mow the grass, I water the grass, it grows,
I mow the grass, I water the grass, it grows, I mow the grass,
<BREAK> what the hell is wrong with this cycle...?
- Is the Taos hum just a gimmick to get you there? And I have
bad hearing anyway.
Anyway, life is funny, bees make honey, etc...
Hope you all enjoy the newsletter - Peace man!

Your daily moment of zen
1. Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead
of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either; just
leave me the hell alone.
2. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a broken fan belt
and a leaky tire.
3. It's always darkest before dawn. So if you're going to steal
your neighbor's newspaper, that's the time to do it.
5. Don't be irreplaceable; if you can't be replaced, you can't be
promoted.
6. No one is listening until you make a mistake.
7. Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.
8. Never test the depth of the water with both feet.
9. It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as
a warning to others.
10. It is far more impressive when others discover your good
qualities without your help.
11. If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a
couple of car payments.
12. Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their
shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and
you have their shoes.
13. If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
14. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how
to fish, and he will sit in a boat & drink beer all day.
15. If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it
was probably worth it.
17. If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.
18. If you drink, don't park; accidents cause people.
19. Some days you are the bug, some days you are the windshield.
20. Don't worry, it only seems kinky the first time.
21. Good judgment comes from bad experience, and a lot of that
comes from bad judgment.
22. The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half
and put it back in your pocket.
23. Timing has an awful lot to do with the outcome of a raindance.
24. A closed mouth gathers no feet.
25. Duct tape is like the force; it has a light side & a dark
side, and it holds the universe together.
26. There are two theories to arguing with women. Neither one
works.
27. Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth
is moving.
28. Experience is something you don't get until just after you
need it.
29. Never miss a good chance to shut up.
Thanks for the forward Kat!

Paul Allen, one of the founders of Microsoft, had a great
passion for Jimi Hendrix, which led to his amassing the world's
largest collection of Hendrix memorabilia. Recently he created
the Experience Music Project in Seattle, a one-of-a-kind music
museum combining interactive and interpretive exhibits to tell
the story of the growth of American popular music.
EMP's collection includes more than 80,000 artifacts and is
dedicated to capturing and reflecting the essence of rock 'n'
roll, from its roots in jazz, soul, gospel, country and blues,
to its influence on hip hop, punk and other more recent genres.

Subject: Visa ads?
Hey,
I don't like to complain, but Visa ads to open up _Keep on
Truckin'_ really hits me wrong.... I'm sure the money is
nice, but the first thing I did was delete the issue. I then
went to my Trash file to write this note instead of just
deleting it. Is the ad necessary to keep the issue going?
You've got a mighty nice newsletter going... don't sell it

** Editor's Comment **
Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
Here's the deal - I use egroups for my list program and it doesn't
cost me anything..... except they get to plug some sponsor of
their own. That was their ad not mine and am sorry for the
appearance of it in the last issue.
I like the cost and the control I have over my list (except for
their ads) now using egroups. My time on list management has gone
from many hours a month to almost nil. To me it is worth using
their service and putting up with their ads. They recently made a
change from putting the ads at the bottom to now putting them up
at the top and therefore making it more blatant.
For 4 or 5 bucks a month I can have them keep the ads out.. I
will take donations - not sure how much I have to pay up-front
to get this going. Perhaps I will check on this an let you folks
know...
Hang in there, if you enjoy the newsletter, I will try not to let
you down to much.

Subject: My revelations on the Grateful Dead
To: hippy@vipgrafx.com
I would just like to contribute my thoughts on what the
Grateful Dead and especially Jerry garcia meant to me. To see a
show was magic, to listen to a bootleg or album was almost as
good. What I'm trying to say is thatr Jerry gave many many people
joy if only for a night. They were a tremedous influence on not
only my life but the lives of friends, family, and legions of
other DEADHEADS. So I would just like to say, thank you Jerry,
Bob, Phil, Bill, Mickey, and Brent for the years of love and
togetherness.
Peace

Oh, the darkside!
Book Description
Since the sixties, musicians have been outspoken and powerful
proponents for social change, making them a threat to those eager
to maintain the status quo. Typically fond of drugs, they also
make easy targets for investigation and exploitation. In this
comprehensive look at more than a dozen suspect rock star deaths,
conspiracy researcher Alex Constantine delves into the secrets
that the record industry, organized crime, and even the FBI and
CIA don't want uncovered. And more!

Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
Shot less than three weeks before Jimi Hendrix's death, this
middle-of-the-night concert is set at the conflict-ridden Isle of
Wight festival, a troubled event well-documented in Message to
Love: The Isle of Wight Festival 1970 by Murray Lerner, whose
expanded footage of Hendrix comprises this movie. Not one of
Hendrix's stellar performances, and frayed a bit by the late hour
and equipment problems, the concert nevertheless finds the
legendary guitarist in a gracious mood, asking the crowd to be
patient with his tuning and even allow him to start one song over
after a bumpy start. Backed by Mitch Mitchell on drums and Buddy
Cox on bass, Hendrix's playing on "Voodoo Chile" and "Machine
Gun" has power but lacks snap, yet most of his mid-song solos
prove bold and lyrical. Everything pulls together, however, for a
hypnotic rendering of "Red House," which instantly sets down a
snaking groove and gives Hendrix room for some jittery phrases.
The overall portrait seems to be of a Promethean artist perhaps a
bit bored and certainly tired, but fans should find much to
celebrate here. --Tom Keogh
