A Creed To Live By
By Nancye Sims
Don't undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It
is because we are different that each of us is special.
Don't set your goals by what other people deem important. Only
you know what is best for you.
Don't take for granted the things closest to your heart. Cling
to them as you would your life, for without them life is
meaningless.
Don't let your life slip through your fingers by living in the
past or for the future. By living your life one day at a time,
you live all the days of your life.
Don't give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is
really over until the moment you stop trying.
Don't be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect. It is
this fragile thread that binds us to each other.
Don't be afraid to encounter risks. It is by taking chances that
we learn how to be brave.
Don't shut love out of your life by saying it's impossible to
find. The quickest way to receive love is to give love. The
fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly; and the best
way to keep love is to give it wings.
Don't dismiss your dreams. To be without dreams is to be without
hope; to be without hope is to be without purpose.
Don't run through life so fast that you forget not only where
you've been, but also where you're going. Life is not a race,
but a journey to be savored each step of the way.

Subject: Update on "Looking for the Summer"
Hi Vincent,
Just wanted to thank you again for featuring my novel "Looking
for the Summer" back in July '99. The book, which is about a
Vietnam War conscientious objector's adventures and search for
identity on the road from Paris to Calcutta in 1977, went out of
print a few months ago. Although it's still listed at Amazon.com,
the distributor has no more copies left.
I decided to check out the e-publishing world and got lucky with
an e-publisher from Australia called Jacobyte Books, who put out
some interesting titles. "Looking for the Summer" is now
available from Jacobyte in the following formats: PDF, CD-ROM,
floppy disk, and POD (print-on-demand). Jacobyte's URL is
http://www.jacobytebooks.com for anyone
interested.
My second novel "Toraware," which is a psychological drama about
the obsessive relationship of three misfits from different
cultural backgrounds in 1980s Japan, has also been published by
Dead End Street Publications, an e-publisher of alternative
literature. Check out http://www.deadendstreet.com/n1.html
for
more information.
Hope you and all your readers have a wonderful holiday season.
Keep up the good work with this newsletter. We'd all miss it
greatly if it disappeared.
Peace,
Robert W. Norris

I have reached the age where choosing your battles is a very
important concept. When it is something that really matters to
me then I refuse to jeopardize my integrity and conform; if it
is something that won't make my life unbearable I will conform
where I have to just to keep life somewhat peaceful (like wearing
shoes at work). They say what doesn't kill you makes you
